Aim: Are all thoughts equal?
Do Now: Make a list of physical sensations you are blocking out right now.
Make a list of sounds you aren't listening to.
Make a list of thoughts you are paying attention to.
Make a list of thoughts you are ignoring so your can pay attention to the ones you are paying attention to.

March 1 subways

I can tell which train passes by just by the sound they make.  the Q train doesn't have the quick squeaky noise the B makes.  I can also tell how fast they are moving by hear.  One reason the B train has a squeaky sound is because it runs on the express track and is moving very much faster than the Q on the local track.

The Q train passed. by.  It reminded me of the calming rumbling of a river.  It goes soft as it approaches from far away.  Then LOUD and crashing like tons of water tumbling over sharp rocks.  It softens again as it goes away.  The vague sound of a river in the distance.

A Whale

A whale swam by today
Right by my window!
It whistled by.
I could hear the water swishing through his tail
And the soft splashing of the disturbed waves
On the surface of the open sea
A whale swam by, or was it the "B"?

Every two minutes or so there is a thunderstorm.
First comes the faint hush of the rain.
Followed by the gentle rumble of thunder.
then, there's lightning, and clashing and banging
A ship caught at sea!
Finally, everything settles down.
Calm waters again.

The train was moving so fast I just felt a yellow lightning through my ears.

The sound of a million birds making sound.
A fast airplane taking off to the sky.

Train-thought:Stream of Consciousness

I hear an old locomotive train, or some kind of banking on
steel.  I think of the old days of how people banged together members around them.
Feels like a Q train and had an airplane sound that was like an airlift.
This sound sounds like the construction of a building.
I saw colors of darkness and light as if I were in the train
Crossing the tunnel and coming outside.  The train noise makes me feel more calm and relaxed.

As the train went buy smoothly
I felt as if I wasn't even sitting
Next to the wind because the train
Made a low noise.  Usually the
Train is loud and fast but this
One was mad
Quiet.
Which is the Q train going towards Coney Island.  Then there's
a Manhattan Express B train speeding making loud noise as if I'm on the train the noise makes it feel as I am.
I hear a banging sound as if a train is being signaled or something.
It is like two items smashed together to make such a sound.
There is another Q train which is kind of dirty.
It is grinding through on the tracks making a low noise
so gentle.

I hear the take-off of a plane.Now I hear a spaceship zooming
UP
and it makes me feel like I'm not untied to this desk, to this paper and pen.
I belong to the world.
Now  I hear a plane landing and it reminds me of the way you feel when you land in a new and exciting place.  Now it sounds like my childhood when I'd try to learn to ride a skateboard
but I'd fall
every
time.
